Description
Bolivia is a country of transit for irregular migration at regional and global levels and a country of immigration as well as emigration. The consular officials were not systemically trained on migration and asylum before being posted abroad, resulting in a lack of protection for Bolivian citizens abroad.

The Directorate-General of Consular Affairs (DGCR) within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs requested MIEUX’ support to increasing the knowledge and capacities of its consular staff in international standards in migration and asylum policy and procedures.

Within the framework of this Action, a detailed review of the DGCR training needs on migration policy and procedures were carried out. Based on this assessment, the experts developed a training manual and curriculum on migration and asylum aimed at supporting the Bolivian consular staff posted abroad, and especially in the EU with different good practices in managing regular migration and visa policy.
