Partner Countries

MIEUX+ is a capacity building and cooperation facility that works on all areas of migration and mobility. Partner countries outside of the European Union can request capacity building activities and EU expertise tailored to their needs. The expertise is sourced primarily from EU Member States, but also beyond. 13% of experts between 2016 and 2019 were from countries outside of the EU.

MIEUX provides capacity building and exchange of practices on irregular migration and trafficking, asylum and international protection, legal migration and migration and development, as well as cross-cutting areas such as climate-induced migration, data management, gender and human rights.

Past examples of support include:

  • Policy development in the field of diaspora engagement, trafficking, migrant integration and more
  • Training manuals, handbooks, and training curricula
  • Consultations, setting up of inter-institutional coordination bodies on migration
  • Revision of laws, action plans, protocols for operations
