Description
Trafficking of Human Beings is a growing problem in Latin America and the Caribbean, a region that contains major source, transit and destination countries for victims of trafficking. In general, trafficking tends to occur within national borders, but cross-border trafficking is also extremely significant in the region, with intra-regional trafficking flows also taking place.

The Ibero-American Network of Public Prosecutors Specialised in Trafficking in Human Beings was created 2011 by the Ibero-American Association of Public Prosecutors’ Offices (AIAMP) and elaborated then a "Protocol for inter-institutional cooperation to strengthen investigation, attention and protection of victims of the crime of trafficking in persons among Ibero-American Public Prosecutors’ Offices".

The IberRed Network requested assistance from MIEUX to foster cooperation among the AIAMP through the revision of the Protocol developed in 2011.
