Description
Despite the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) great wealth in natural resources, recent decades have been extremely difficult for the DRC as the country has been shaken by a series of violent conflicts, maintaining an extremely high level of poverty and unequal access to the wealth generated by these resources. In terms of migration, the country lacks a comprehensive migration policy, which results in a reactive migration management approach rather than a planned and streamlined strategy for various migratory processes.

In this context, the Ministry for Employment, Labour and Social Security (MELSS) requested support from MIEUX to enhance the capacities of the Government to engage the diaspora in national development.

This Action resulted in the development of the future diaspora engagement policy as well as the enhancement and understanding of technical capacities of the Congolese authorities through sessions and workshops focused on various diaspora issues.
