Factsheets and Infosheets
This knowledge sheet highlights the importance of interinstitutional coordination, non-governmental organisations and Ombudspersons in countering Trafficking in Human Beings.
As part of our Action Azerbaijan V, the MIEUX+ team and experts co-organised a series of knowledge exchange workshops with our partners the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan together with a coalition of 45 NGOs. The most promising practices and lessons learnt resulted in this document, available in English.
The complexity of the trafficking phenomenon calls for a comprehensive response. A single trafficking case may sometimes involve many government bodies, such as the Police and law enforcement, State Migration Service, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ombudspersons and non-governmental organizations. Coordination bodies such as National Referal Mechanisms on THB in Greece and Azerbaijan play as a bridge between various entities and ensure the timely and proper response of the authorities and all protection actors to the needs of the victims of human trafficking, according to the international standards in this field.
Knowledge Sheets (KS) are a MIEUX+ tool to capture in a succinct way a concrete body of knowledge shared in a Webinar, Knowledge Exchange or similar event. The KS also links the knowledge shared in these discussions with further reading materials or other resources that can be useful to provide more in-depth information on the topic at hand.
