As part of MIEUX’s ongoing support to the Government of Mauritius in drafting a new National Migration and Development Policy and Action Plan, a MIEUX delegation travelled to Port Louis 29 August-1 September 2017 to convene a two-day workshop with 30 participants from national ministries, representatives from international organisations, the business sector and local NGOs. A complementary series of 15 bilateral meetings with State and non-State actors ensued over the following two days.

The European Union (EU), together with the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), launched a project to support the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in its efforts to help prevent, protect, prosecute and care for victims of human trafficking.

The project is implemented within the framework of the Migration EU expertise (MIEUX) initiative at the request of the Social Development Ministry of Jordan (‘MOSD’).

At the request of the Nigerien Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the NGO Graspi (Groupe de Réflexion et d’Action pour le Soutien au Phénomène de l’Immigration), MIEUX/ICMPD held a thematic info-session focusing on irregular migration among youth for governmental and non-governmental Nigerien entities in Niamey 31 July-02 August 2017. This session was the first of three activities, the other two focusing on migration, youth and employment, and on the reintegration of returning young migrants.
