Description
Côte d’Ivoire is one of the larger and most important countries in West Africa, with more than 21 million inhabitants, and the largest economy in the region after Nigeria. Its flourishing economy, at least until the end of the 1990s, has confirmed the status of the country as a main destination hub for regional migration flows.

To support the efforts of Ivorian authorities, the Ministry of Development and Planning requested support from MIEUX in 2012 aiming at setting the base for a first national strategy on the fight against trafficking in human beings (THB).

Overall, the national strategy was developed as well as the launch of a national dialogue on anti-trafficking and awareness-raising.
