Objective

In 2020, the Brazilian Federal Public Defender’s Office (DPU) has requested support from MIEUX+ to contribute to a better protection and support to migrants and asylum seekers in Brazil. The action will 1) strengthen the efforts of the DPU officers and the civil society organisations' network to better assist migrants and asylum seekers with legal proceedings, and 2) raise awareness on the Brazilian asylum procedure among the migrant population.

Activities

Activity 1: Training needs assessment and development of the training curriculum.

Activity 2: Basic course on international protection and asylum with a special focus on legal assistance to migrants.

Activity 3: Drafting of basic course training manuals and supporting materials.

Activity 4: Training of trainers (ToT) for Federal Public Defender’s Office (DPU).

Activity 5: Replica training on the basic course on international protection and asylum with a special focus on legal assistance to migrants.

Activity 6: Production of two information videos on the Brazilian asylum procedure.
