Objective

Overall objective

Foster cooperation among Public Prosecutors’ Offices of the Ibero-American region countries in addressing THB and SOM through the revision of the Protocol for Inter-institutional Cooperation to Strengthen Investigation, Attention and Protection of Victims of Trafficking in Persons among Ibero-American Public Prosecutors’ Offices AIAMP-REMPM

Objectifs spécifiques

  • Support the Ibero-American Network of Public Prosecutors in the revision of the Protocol for Inter-institutional Cooperation to Strengthen Investigation, Attention and Protection of Victims of Trafficking in Persons among Ibero-American Public Prosecutors’ Offices AIAMP-REMPM in order to make it more effective, and to enhance the operational capacities of the Network of Public Prosecutors Specialising in Trafficking in Human Beings and include SOM in its scope;
  • Support the Network in the organisation of its annual Conference that will take place 19-21 September 2017 in Cartagena, Colombia, and during which different modalities and good practices of cooperation in the fight against THB and SOM will be discussed and a Commitment Plan will be agreed upon and signed.

Results and outputs

Results

  • Transnational cooperation among Public Prosecutors of the Ibero-American Network of Public Prosecutors Specialised in Trafficking in Human Beings is enhanced, especially through a revised and more operational version of the Protocol for Interinstitutional Cooperation to Strengthen Investigation, Attention and Protection of Victims of Trafficking in Persons among Ibero-American Public Prosecutors’ Offices AIAMP-REMPM which will also cover the crime of SOM;
  • Knowledge and expertise of Public Prosecutors of the Network on obligations and tools on transnational cooperation in addressing THB and SOM deriving from international instruments is enhanced;
  • Exchange of practices, experiences and expertise in addressing THB and SOM among experts and partners, as well as among the partners themselves, is promoted through the peer-to-peer approach.

Outputs

  • A revised version of the Protocol for Inter-institutional Cooperation to Strengthen Investigation, Attention and Protection of Victims of Trafficking in Persons among Ibero-American Public Prosecutors’ Offices AIAMP-REMPM;
  • A Commitment Act to deepen cooperation between public prosecutors' offices, including through a revision of the Protocol.
