Description
Côte d’Ivoire is one of the larger and most important countries in West Africa, with more than 21 million inhabitants, and the largest economy in the region after Nigeria. Its flourishing economy, at least until the end of the 1990s, has confirmed the status of the country as a main destination hub for regional migration flows.
For this second MIEUX Action in the country, the Ministry of Integration and Ivorians abroad (MIAIE) requested support from MIEUX to increase the development impact of migration.
The Action contributed to the development of a Strategy on Migration and Development built open the existing Strategic Orientations Document on Diaspora mobilisitation, as well as a methodology aiming at mainstreaming Migration issues into Development planning.
